‘Portuguese For a Day Tours’ hereinafter referred to as ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’.
The client hereinafter referred to ‘you’.

Booking

A booking can only be confirmed after the payment of the full amount for that booking. No date can be held until a payment has been done.
Once the payment is made you will be allocated a place/seat on a particular tour and a confirmation emailed to you.
We accept no responsibility for incorrect email or inability to deliver email. If your confirmation email does not arrive, please send us an email to info@portugueseforadaytours.com and ask us to receive the email confirmation of the tour you have paid for.
We reserve the right to sell any places/seats reserved without a deposit or a full payment.
We cannot guarantee that there will be enough places/seats when you try to make a booking.
Reservations made by phone or email will only be considered after proof of deposit.
If the payment was made using a deposit (50% only) the remaining 50% of the total amount must be paid on the tour day before the tours starts.
All shared group tours have a minimum of four people to departure. All shared tours and private tours, have a maximum of eight travellers, and we do not operate with groups larger than eight people.

The payment processor we use is Stripe, to keep all payments up to date in a safe way. We recommend you read our Privacy Policy(opens in a new tab).

In the case of a payment/deposit being done via PayPal please note that processing charges may apply.

Cancellation

Cancellation of your booking must be emailed to info@portugueseforadaytours.com

Cancellation Policy For shared tours
You are entitled to a refund only if you give us a 48h notice of your intention to cancel. If cancellations are made inside the 48h before the tour starts, no refund is applicable.
Refunds will be done via the same way used to pay the booking (if available) and the costumer must pay all the credit card fees that may apply.

Cancellation Policy for private and customized tours
Cancellations done outside 3 days before the tour date are entitled to 80% refund minus any credit card fees.
Cancellations done inside 72 hours before the tour date are not entitled to a refund.
Refunds will be done via the same way used to pay the booking (if available) and the costumer must pay all the credit card fees that may apply.

Large group bookings may be subject to different cancellation conditions
You can choose to change your departure to another date, only if you do it 72 hours before your initial departure date and this is subject to availability.
Tours already booked cannot be cancelled and re-booked where special offers are made available.
In case of a no show or a last minute cancellation no amount will be refunded.

What are the credit card fees? (updated on March 2nd 2023)

Credit card fees, are fees charged by our payment processor to manage transactions. We use Stripe to manage payments in a safe and effective way. When you cancel a tour, these fees are not refunded, as they are used to process all transactions. Card fees are as follows:

Changes by us

We reserve the right to change our typical itineraries at any time and at our discretion. If this happens we will substitute alternative arrangements of comparable monetary value.
We reserve the right to alter our itinerary in the event of happenings outside of our control, such as: revolution, strikes and/or protests, traffic, weather conditions.
We cannot guarantee that the vehicle you travel in will be decorated with ‘Portuguese For a Day Tours’ livery, however we will do our best so that this happens.
Because of the nature of the service we will not be liable if any service leaves or arrives later than a specific time.

Obligations and responsibilities

You are required to provide all information about you and the rest of your group to ‘Portuguese For a Day Tours’.
You are required to have with you your personal information such as passport, ID card or driver’s license.
You have to provide accurate information about any physical limitations or any other relevant elements to guarantee the quality of the tour.
You have to be on time on the meeting point agreed. We cannot be held responsible if you are delayed and arrive after the time agreed. If you are not there on time we hold the right to departure without returning to your pick up point. In case this happens your booking will be treated as a no-show and no refund will be made.

Usage of Image and Data
During your tour, the tour guide may take some photos and films of you (as part of the group) while you are a passenger/costumer and they may be used in our brochures or social media pages to promote our tours.

By using our website and engage in a contract for a purchase of our services you agree with these Terms as well as our Privacy Policy

Information

Our tours are in different areas of the country and sometimes we have to walk. We advise you to bring comfy shoes and clothes and a jacket because of climate changes.
If hotel or apartment pick up is offered for your tour then your pick up should be at your accommodation. In case we are unable to access/stop in your street with the van we will arrange a convenient meeting point. We only provide pick ups in central Lisbon hotels or short term rentals.
We accept no responsibility for the theft, loss or damage to personal belongings from at any time during the duration of your tour.
The client acknowledges that he will voluntarily participate in the tour and accepts possible risks as: transportation failures, accidents or illness, damaged, stolen or lost property, criminal activity, protests, strikes, natural causes and the company cannot be held responsible should any of this happens.
For the safety of our team and other participant guests in the tours, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone intoxicated or suspected of being intoxicated or ill.
All the vehicles used are cleaned and common areas are disinfected after each tour. Hand sanitizer is provided inside the vans and throughout the walking tours as well.
No smoking, eating or drinking allowed inside the vehicles.

‘Portuguese For a Day Tours’ is a brand of the company Portugal Num Dia, Lda. Our company meets all the requirements for its activity. We are an authorized company for sightseeing tours and activities with the registration number RNAAT 1470/2018 (you can learn about us on the Turismo de Portugal’s website).

Gift Cards

All Gift Cards are dated and expire 12 months (365 days) from the date of issue.
Gift Cards are non-refundable.
You cannot obtain any cash advance with your Gift Card or redeem your Gift Card for cash.
Gift Cards can be purchased for a specific tour or custom amounts can be purchased to later be discounted in a tour.
A Gift Card for a specific product can be exchange for other product with the same, lower or higher value. No refund is applied.
We are not responsible if a Gift Card is lost, stolen, destroyed or used without permission and no replacement will be provided in these circumstances.
Gift Cards may be redeemed on Portuguese For a Day website. The number must be entered in the Gift Card field on the booking page.
