Filipa was our guide today. She was exceptional. A vast knowledge of everywhere we visited and more. I must admit I do ask a lot of questions and she responded magnificently to them all. Highly recommend. A superlative experience.

Overview of your tour
Our Lisbon City Tour is the ideal excursion for first-time Lisbon travelers or for those who’d like to learn from a true local! We’ll begin the day by crossing the river over the magnificent 25th of April Bridge to reach Christ King Statue.
Belém, Lisbon’s unofficial center of historical buildings, is our next stop. We’ll tour the area’s most significant monuments to learn about the plight of Portuguese explorers. Then, take the opportunity to learn about life here in Portugal. Your guide can tell you everything you want to know over traditional custard tart (Pastel de Belém) in Fábrica de Pastéis de Belém, Lisbon’s famous pastry cafe!
For fantastic photo opportunities, we’ll travel to some of Lisbon’s most famous neighborhoods. First stop, Alfama — Lisbon’s oldest and most typically Portuguese neighborhood. Situated at the foot of São Jorge castle, the narrow winding streets are filled with charming colorful houses and curious locals. For a change of tempo, we’ll head to the relatively tourist-free neighborhood of Graça to admire the street art that surrounds the locals drinking coffee on the street. Lastly, a trip to Lisbon wouldn’t be complete without heading downtown and to the main avenue, Avenida da Liberdade, to soak up the atmosphere of Bairro Alto. We’ll finish your introduction to Lisbon by visiting one of the best viewpoints in the city to take in the capital’s beauty.

We had a private tour with Filipa that allowed us to see Lisbon as an overview from a local’s perspective and our own pace. It was perfect in every way. Filipa was kind, considerate, flexible and a fountain of knowledge. It’s clear she researches in considerable depth and far beyond the likely questions and history. She is diplomatic as well as witty. We felt like we were with a life long friend. Her recommendations and advice were invaluable. So lucky to have found her.
{Our tour guide} picked us up from our hostel and was immediately so kind and knowledgeable. I can’t say enough good things about this tour and tour guide. She answered all of our questions and even took us a few extra places as we had the time to see more history and culture. Fabulous day and absolutely worth the money!!
