General Questions

Portuguese For a Day Tours is a tour company based in Lisbon, Portugal. We focus on small groups, private, and customized tours to provide a personalized experience for our guests. Our legal registration number in the Portuguese Tourism Board is 1470/2018

Booking and Payment

A booking is confirmed after full payment. Once payment is received, we will email you a confirmation.

We accept payments via Stripe, and you can pay by credit card. Processing charges may apply for transactions. You can read more about this on our Terms and Conditions page.

It is recommended to book your tour as early as possible to ensure availability. Our tours tend to sell-out quickly.

Changes & Cancellations

You are entitled to a refund if you provide at least 48 hours’ notice before the tour starts. Cancellations made within 48 hours are not eligible for a refund.

Cancellations made more than 3 days before the tour date are entitled to an 80% refund minus any credit card fees. Cancellations within 72 hours are not eligible for a refund.

Refunds will be processed via the same method used for payment, and the customer must pay all applicable credit card fees. You can read more about his in our Terms and Conditions.

You can change your departure to another date if you do so at least 72 hours before your initial departure date, and this is subject to availability.

In case of a no-show or last-minute cancellation, no refund will be issued.

We operate tours rain or shine. Cancellations initiated by us due to extreme weather conditions will only happen in the event of a National or Local Emergency.

Tour Details

All tours have a maximum of seven or eight guests. Shared group tours require a minimum of four people.

If your children are younger than twelve years old, please get in touch with us before making your booking, so that we can make all necessary arrangements and check for availability for a proper child seat. If you would like to join a small group tour with your child, our shared tours are only available for children twelve years old and over. Children under the age of 12 are considered participants on each tour, and their tickets are not free.

Yes, solo travelers are welcome! If there are fewer than four people booked on a shared tour, we will contact you to reschedule or offer a different tour. Alternatively, you can opt for a private tour.

Transportation is provided in an air-conditioned vehicle with a maximum capacity of eight passengers, plus the driver/guide.

Our itineraries are hand-picked to guarantee you will receive the best service and, very often, attraction tickets are included. Please check each tour description for inclusions and exclusions.

All tours are offered in English. Other languages can be requested and are subject to confirmation. Get in touch with us!

Pick-Up and Timing

If hotel or apartment pick-up is offered, it will be from your location in central Lisbon. We arrange convenient meeting points if access is restricted. For the Private Tours, we offer pick-up in other areas, please contact us if your accommodation is not in Lisbon.

Unfortunately, no. We kindly ask you to be on time as the group will depart as scheduled. If you are not on time, your booking will be treated as a no-show, and no refund will be issued.

If you book a tour directly on our website, you are selecting a specific, non-flexible departure time. However, you can contact us to customize a tour, and we may be able to adjust the departure time based on your destination and availability.

Additional Information

Yes, but please note that some locations we visit are not prepared with mobility ready infrastructures, so please contact us beforehand, and we can discuss the most comfortable option for you.

Yes, a food tour can be customized! However, please contact us beforehand so that we can make the possible arrangements in our food stops.

No, for safety reasons, we do not allow luggage on our tours. We recommend making arrangements to leave your luggage at your hotel or apartment.
