Overview of your tour

Let Portuguese For a Day help you explore the cultural landscape of this UNESCO Listed Site by delving deeper into the region than any other tour company around! We’ll meet up in central Lisbon — bright and early to beat the crowds — before we make our way to beautiful Pena Park and Palace.
We’ll then head to Quinta da Regaleira, a beautiful estate dating back to the end of the Portuguese monarchy. Take your time to explore grottos, underground paths, an inverted tower, a waterfall, and many more unique surprises.
Afterwards, stroll through the streets of Sintra and enjoy a typical Portuguese lunch (at your own cost) in one of the many traditional restaurants. We like to recommend some of our favorite places to eat, and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction! With so many options available, you’re bound to find something to whet your appetite.
After lunch, we’ll cruise along the countryside as far as Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, to enjoy sweeping views out over the ocean.
Finish your Sintra Day Tour with a drive along the coastline admiring the waves. We’ll then head back to Lisbon, arriving by 4:00PM.

Yes, of course! Our group tours are a great way to meet like-minded travelers. All of our shared tours require a minimum of four people to run; however, we welcome reservations from solo travelers (no need to purchase two tickets!). If there are fewer than four people booked on tour, we will reschedule the tour for another day or offer you a different tour.

Loved everything about this tour, my only regret was that I didn’t book it earlier in the week and that we didn’t book our other tours with this company. Andre was a fantastic guide, he was able to give us an overview of the history of everywhere we went but we were also given enough time to independently visit the palaces, gardens and small towns included in this tour.
Sintra is a magical place that was made even better for us by the great food recommendations from Andre. I highly recommend this tour. Do it early in your visit and listen to any recommendations you get, we visited a couple of restaurants in Lisbon based on our guides recommendations and they were fabulous.
The current climate makes it necessary to note that all covid regulations were followed. The vehicle we were in was large, masks were used at all times and hand sanitiser was in evidence in the vehicle and freely available for our use at all times.
I highly recommend Andre! He was personable and knowledgeable. You can tell that he actually enjoys what he does. The tour was jampacked with must-see attractions and monuments, especially for a first-time visitor like myself. Not only was he very accommodating, he was so helpful, answering any questions we had and also making many recommendations or suggestions outside of the scope of the tour. I am so thankful I booked!
Filipa was our guide and she was nothing short of phenomenal. Tour was excellent and she pointed us towards excellent food spots multiple times. Probably the best tour of our two week vacation. Also a great way to see multiple spots near Lisbon in a single day.
