Our tour guide, Filipa was absolutely superb – a charming and very helpful, informative guide. Filipa drove us back to our hotel by a slightly different route so we had more chance of seeing the countryside outside of Lisbon. It was definitely one of the best parts of our 5 day trip to Lisbon and I would highly recommend it.

Overview of your tour
After meeting at the square Praça da Figueira in the morning, we’ll cruise over the Tagus River and the second-longest bridge in Europe, the Vasco da Gama Bridge, to start our day with a wine tasting in the Ribatejo region. Here we’ll visit a traditional winemaker to tour the estate, learn from the passionate owners, and sample fine Portuguese varieties. With our taste buds piqued, we’ll make our way along the river to the beautiful region of Vila Franca de Xira for a traditional Portuguese lunch (at your own cost). The afternoon is then ours to spend at a private country estate just outside of Lisbon, where we’ll meet a local family and spend some time on their farm. Try a different form of transportation as we ride through the estate on horseback! With a range of interesting animals, from goats, donkeys, a meerkat (who loves to cuddle), and even a tarantula and python. You can get as close as you like! We’ll then return you to your hotel/apartment at 5:00pm.

We went on this tour on our first full day in Lisbon and it was absolutely the best thing we did the whole holiday! The horse riding was incredible, the ranch is home to not only horses but a number of other beautiful animals. I cannot recommend this tour enough, it’s a fantastic way to see parts of Lisbon that are off the beaten track.
We had a blast, was definitely worth the time and money. We highly recommend this tour, it is an excellent way to see different parts of lisbon not many tourists visit.
